Publishing Assistant Jobs description
A publishing assistant is responsible for handling all the administrative work in a publishing department. Typically a publishing assistant is responsible for preparing administrative reports; participating in preparation of training documents; receiving incoming calls; making outgoing calls to clients and suppliers; performing data entry work and files management; performing reception duties in absence of the receptionist; attending training sessions and meetings; preparing minutes of meetings and distributing to the concerned people and performing other tasks assigned by the publications manager. A publishing assistant typically reports to a publishing manager.A publishing assistant should have a high school diploma or an associate's degree. Prior experience working as a publishing assistant may be advantageous. Excellent secretarial skills are essential for a publishing assistant role. Some employers may refer to a publishing assistant position as a publications representative, publishing associate, or publishing executive position.
